June 2, 2024 was the first day of our Scandinavia tour. Karen and Rodney arrived in Stockholm that morning and the tour began at 4pm with a meet and greet and dinner. Theresa joined the following morning. Click to open the map and itinerary for the tour, and the links to each location's Travelin' Trio webpage.
Side Note:
Scandinavia most commonly refers to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. It can sometimes also refer to the Scandinavian Peninsula (which excludes Denmark but includes a part of northern Finland). In English usage, Scandinavia is sometimes used as a synonym for Nordic countries. Iceland and the Faroe Islands are sometimes included in Scandinavia for their ethnolinguistic relations with Sweden, Norway and Denmark. While Finland differs from other Nordic countries in this respect, some authors call it Scandinavian due to its economic and cultural similarities.
Nordic Countries normally includes the sovereign states of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden; the autonomous territories of the Faroe Islands and Greenland; and the autonomous region of Åland.
Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) is a regional co-operation format that includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden.
The Baltic Sea Region can stand for the countries that have shorelines along the Baltic Sea: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, and Sweden. (Thank you Wikipedia!)
