Don took us on a jeep ride thru back roads around Ridgway including a pubic road  throughRalph Loren's property.

 

We met up in Ridgway and were greeted by our hosts and 'tour guides', Don and Terri Bell. 
We spent 2 nights in their wonderful home with amazing views.

 

Rodney and Karen ventured out on an photo tour with Colorful Colorado Collective. Three professional photographers drove eight participants all around Ridgway, Teluride, Ophir, Ouray, and other areas of San Juan County, all with gorgeous views of the San Juan Mountains.

Theresa spent the day with Don & Terri who took her through Ouray (“The Switzerland of America”), Red Mountain Pass, and the San Miguel Valley.

 

We attended the Bell's church and ate lunch in Ridgway where the John Wayne movie "True Grit" was filmed. The restaurant was built after the movie was made but it is a tribute to the movie and is filled with John Wayne memorabilia. Then Don and Terry took us on another scenic drive to Inspiration Point in Loghill Village. There is a path that follows the ridge line and is filled with places to pause and reflect on God’s beautiful creations.

That concludes the 2023 adventure of the Travelin' Trio!  Theresa and Rodney drove back to Denver then flew to Dallas for a week of visiting friends. Karen continued her trip by driving further across Colorado and into Utah visiting 4 National Parks, Four Corners, and other fun stops before heading back to San Antonio.

We have a tradition to meet in a major US city that all of us can easily get to in order to make a photo book of our recent trip. This year, we chose Orlando in December.  We bought tickets early on for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in the Magic Kingdom. We also found a nice Airbnb in Kissimmee with a big dining room table and plenty of room. We arrived Thursday night, started the book Friday morning, went to Walt Disney World Friday afternoon and stayed until after midnight. Then we worked on the book again most of Saturday and Sunday.
